Tinfoil intensifies, not blocks, radio waves. Seriously.


So it turns out that wearing a tinfoil beanie is a bad idea if you want to keep secret government radio waves out of your head.

I'm probably a little late to this party, but some students over at MIT did a few experiments to see if the tinfoil beanie so beloved of paranoids everywhere would block out radio transmissions. Turns out that, at frequencies reserved for the federal government, the beanies actually intensified the radio signals.

So, dress accordingly.
